  3. No student will be allowed back to campus before signing a commitment to abide by the Health and Safety Rules and

A donation from UK government to benefit KMTC students

KMTC LATEST NEWS- The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) on Thursday received emergency obstetric and newborn care equipment from the UK Government and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) to enhance teaching and learning.
  The equipment was handed over to the College by Dr. Issak Bashir, the Program Coordinator at UNFPA.
  While delivering the donation, Dr. Issak said the equipment will go a long way in training competent health professionals to serve both local and international markets.
  “I am confident that the training offered in the College is competitive on a global platform and that this equipment will enhance it,” he said.
  Academic Registrar Dr. Lucy Waweru who received the equipment on behalf of the CEO Prof. Michael Kiptoo appreciated the continued support from LSTM and UK government, noting that the equipment will enhance the College’s mandate of producing competent health professionals that can compete globally.
  In addition, the equipment will boost training in emergency maternal and newborn care for improved outcomes.

Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies Management Be a holder of K.C.S.E with a minimum aggregate of C+ (plus) and a minimum of C (plain) in both Mathematics and English OR Be a holder of a Diploma in a relevant discipline with Credit pass from MUST or any other institution recognized by MUST Senate.  Candidates who hold a Diploma from MUST will be exempted for one year of study for Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies Management. Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E, B- (minus) in Mathematics and C + (plus) in English/Kiswahili. Geography, Accounts and Economics will also be an added advantage.

Master of Science in Public Health Be a Holder of a first degree in the following fields: Medicine (MBCHB), Nursing(BSc.N), Pharmacy (B. Pharm) and Dentistry (BDS).  A holder of a first degree, First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in any of the following fields: Environmental Health, Community Health, Nutrition and Health Systems Management, Medical Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences OR A holder of a first degree Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the above disciplines with a minimum of two years post qualification experience in a health related field plus acceptable evidence of research ability and  evidence of publication.
Master of Science in Epidemiology
Master of Science in Medical Education A Bachelor’s degree with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) on a 4.0 scale OR An Upper Second Class Honours in a relevant degree programme or an equivalent qualification from recognized University. In exceptional cases, the Senate may also admit to the Masters Programme candidates with Lower Second Class Honors degree but with proven relevant research, professional and scholarly experience. Subject to approval by the Senate, Departments may formulate regulations requiring applicants to have attained other academic qualifications as may be consistent with the goals of the Master’s programme.  Candidates may be invited for interview to assess their suitability for admission.

Bachelor of Science in Public Health Be  a holder of K.C.S.E or equivalent examination certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ (plus) and minimum of C+ (plus) in cluster subjects;  Biology or Biological Sciences, Chemistry/ Physical Sciences,  Mathematics/Physics and English/Kiswahili OR Be a holder of a Diploma in Environmental Health Science and have a mean grade of C (plain) in Biology, Chemistry and Physical Science or Mathematics and English/ Kiswahili OR A – Level candidate with Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) of 2 principals plus subsidiary in sciences combination, one of which must be Biology.
Bachelor of Science in Community Health and Development  The common regulations for all BSc. Degrees in the University shall apply. In addition to the above the candidate must either Be a holder of KSCE (OR Equivalent Examination) Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ (plus), a minimum of C (plain) in Biology and chemistry and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics or Physics OR Be a holder of KACE with minimum of two principal passes including Biology and a subsidiary pass in Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics OR Be a holder of a Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Community Health & Development, Human Nutrition, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Health Records and Information Management or the equivalent of any of these qualifications as approved by Senate.  Candidates with a Diploma and/or Higher National Diploma (HND), with a Credit pass may, at the discretion of the MUST Senate, be exempted from one academic year of study.

Bachelor of Science in Health Records and Information Systems Be a holder of KCSE Certificate with an aggregate of C+ (plus) and C (plain) in Biology and both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili OR Holder of a Diploma in Health Records and Information Systems from an Institution recognized by MUST Senate OR KACE Certificate with a minimum of two principle passes including Biology and a Subsidiary pass in Chemistry, Mathematics or a pass in Mathematics at KCSE level.

Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Have a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E. and should have a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in the following subject cluster: Mathematics/Physics, Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Physical Sciences and English/Kiswahili. Taita Taveta University (TTU) is happy to inform the first year (New) students who have been selected to join the University in the various degree programmes that they can now get access to their Letters of admission to the university. Congratulations for getting admission at University after your successful application. Students joining Taita Taveta University (TTU) are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

The bachelor of film and animation programme is a four-year degree programme that covers technical and creative components of filmmaking including concept development, screen writing, camera operation, production management, directing, editing and sound design. Students are expected to create their own projects to develop skills as directors, producers and editors with the aim to become proficient filmmakers. They also gain expertise in digital film production, (film) business manae4ment, marketing and communications for the film related industries.

Sat for your KCSE examination and attained the minimum University Entry Grade and have been selected to join University of Nairobi (UON)? Well. Congratulations for this your major achievement. Students joining University of Nairobi (UON) are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after doing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

  ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

  The admissions office is in the academic affairs department. The office is mandated to receive, process, and dispatch admission letters for eligible applicants. Kisii University offers various courses, at different levels ranging from certificates to PhD. Students interested in full-time, evening and weekend modes of study can apply for January, May and September intakes. Those interested in school based programs can apply for April, August and December intakes.

  Application forms are obtained from the admissions office at the main campus or from our campuses across the country. They can also be downloaded from our website >>application forms .

  The duly filled forms should be accompanied with relevant certificates, a passport size photo and an original bank in pay slip for a non-refundable application fees.   The admissions office is in the academic affairs department. The office is mandated to receive, process, and dispatch admission letters for eligible applicants. Kisii University offers various courses, at different levels ranging from certificates to PhD. Students interested in full-time, evening and weekend modes of study can apply for January, May and September intakes. Those interested in school based programs can apply for April, August and December intakes.
