How to download 2020/2021 Admission letter to Chuka University (CU); 2020 KUCCPS Admission list pdf

Sat for your KCSE examination and attained the minimum University Entry Grade and have been selected to join Chuka University (CU)? Well. Congratulations for this your major achievement. Students joining university are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after doing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

To download the Chuka University (CU) Admission letter;

Admission letters and accompanying documents should be downloaded using the following procedure:

  • Step 1: Go to Chuka University Website: http://www.chuka.ac.ke
  • Step 2: Move to ‘Prospective students’ submenu on the left and click ‘Admission letters (KUCCPS)’
  • Step 3. Log in with your Surname and Index Number.
    For example: If your Name is ODIEK CHEPKIRUI MWANAISHA and Index Number is
    4040303030/2019, enter your login details as follows:
  • Step 4: Click ‘Submit’
  • Step 5. Download your letter and print.
  • Step 6. On the left, click to download each of the following forms:
  1.  Student personal details
  2. Medical biodata
  3. Letter of acceptance of offer
  4. Letter of rejection or deferment of offer

KMTC latest guidelines on reporting of first year students and continuation of learning

LATEST KMTC NEWS- The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has issued fresh guidelines on how learning will progress at its campuses and also reporting on newly admitted students for the 2021/2022 academic year. This follows the Order No. 2 of 2021 issued by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta on the Coronavirus Pandemic on March 26, 2021, with respect to Education in the country.

In his order the President directed suspension of all physical learning in tertiary institutions; including colleges and universities.

But, via a circular dated Monday, 29 March 2021, KMTC Boss Prof. Michael K. Kiptoo says Medical Training institutions shall continue with learning, until otherwise notified.

According to Prof. Kiptoo, continuing students were supposed to report for the March 2021 Semester on March 29, 2021 as earlier communicated. The Students are advised to adorn full College Uniform, carry National and Student ID/ Admission letter.

Similarly, newly admitted Students for the March 2021 intake to report to their respective Campuses on March 30, 2021 as communicated in the admission letters. Due to COVID-19 protocols and travelling logistics, the Students have been given up to Tuesday, April 6, 2021 to report, exclusive of the Easter Holiday and weekend. Just like their Senior Counterparts, the new students are to adorn full College Uniform, carry admission letter and National ID/Birth Certificate.

“Please note that the College will only allow one Parent/Guardian to accompany Students to the College.” The KMTC Boss adds.

Most institutions have since put a halt to in person learning sessions; opting for online classes instead.

Kiptoo says the College has put in place the necessary measures to adhere to Government protocols to mitigate against the spread of the virus and therefore call upon all to comply with the directives.

“We remain focused on the Health and well-being of our Staff and Students.” He reassures.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) is a public corporate agency established under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act No. 29 of 2013 to regulate and coordinate training in the country through licensing, registration and accreditation of programs, institutions and trainers. Section 7 of the Act, 2013 gives the powers and functions of the Authority to regulate and coordinate training; inspect, license and register and accredit training institutions; accredit and inspect programmes and courses; promote access and relevance of training programmes; determine the national technical and vocational training objectives; assure quality and relevance in programmes of training among other functions.

The Authority is governed by a Board appointed by the Cabinet Secretary responsible for Technical and Vocational Education and Training while the day to day affairs are managed by the Board’s Secretariat, headed by a Director General. Prior to the establishment of TVETA, a Directorate of Technical Accreditation and Quality Assurance and Directorate of Youth Training had been established to undertake inspection and registration of TVET institutions with the purview of the mandate of the Ministries of Higher Education Science and Technology and Youth Affairs and Sports respectively.

The Kenyan TVET sector comprises of National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes (TTIs), Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), Technical Trainer Colleges and any other category specified by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education Science and Technology.

MKU scoops pretigious award

Mount Kenya University (MKU) is the recipient of the Talloires Network Innovative Civic Engagement Award, 2020. The award winning project titled “Co-creation strategies for improving the health of children and access to safe water in a time of crisis” is part of the University Award for Innovative Civic Engagement, a program established by the Talloires Network in partnership with Open Society Foundations.

“After a competitive review process, the Selection Committee was impressed by the partnership, and wishes to recognize and support (Mount Kenya University) continued civic engagement work.” said Ms. Lorlene Hoyt, Executive Director, Talloires Network

The University Award for Innovative Civic Engagement aims to discover, learn from, and support the leadership of novel university civic engagement partnerships that connect universities and local communities in ways that contribute to more equal and more inclusive societies.

Mount Kenya University students in a past event jointly organised by MKU and partners for care

MKU has been awarded in recognition of the involvement of the students, staff and University leaders in implementation of community-based activities in Kenyan communities in partnership with Partners for Care (PFC).

The university said it would use the funds to expand the initiative including an additional 3,500 pupils infested with jiggers in Watamu, Malindi besides setting up handwashing units countrywide in the war on the coronavirus.

Some of the joint activities considered during the award process include distribution of over 10,000 water backpacks that provide access to safe water transport and storage for hundreds of thousands of people; treatment of over 1000 jigger infested pupils and eradication of jigger infestations in Marsabit leading to improved school performance; and involvement of students and members of staff in community outreach programs.

Anti-jigger campaigns in Marsabit and Watamu, safe water programme using the water backpack as well as the mobility programme. The joint activities are managed through a joint MKU/PFC committee of 5 members, 2 nominated by each institution and a committee chairperson nominated every two years by the head of either institutions on a rotational basis.

Mount Kenya University staff during a jigger eradication campaign held in Marsabit in conjunction with Partners for Care

The committee is currently chaired by Dr. Peter G. Kirira, Ag. Principal College of Graduate Studies & Research.As part of the award, the University will receive $20,000 to support distribution of water backpacks and hand wash units during COVID-19 pandemic in different parts of the country and to reach an additional 3,500 pupils with jigger infestation in Watamu, Kilifi County.

In addition, Talloires Network will sponsor a member of the University faculty to the Talloires Network Leaders Conference at Harvard University in September 2021.Other recipients of the award include Meridian Global University, Cameroon; Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico; National Autonomous University of Nicaragua and the University of Zimbabwe.

Intakes for new students to TTCs usually occur in August/September, every year.

BUNGOMA TTC COURSES APPLICATION PROCEDURE VIA THE KUCCPS STUDENT PORTAL

This is the main procedure through which you can file your application.

  • Applications are made online at the Kenya Universities & Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS)’s website: – www.kuccps.net on specified dates when the site is announced open for applications. However, students who miss this dates may apply directly to the College.

  • Applicants who sat for KCSE in 2011 and previous years and have not benefitted from any Government Sponsorship are also eligible to apply.

If you did not manage to get placement via KUCCPS, then you still can get one via the TTC. Simply contact the TTC for direct admission. (See contacts below).

BUNGOMA TTC MINIMUM DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION COURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:

  • Mean grade: C+ (plus)
  • English: C (plain)
  • Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.
  • Two specialization subjects (subjects you intend to teach at high school): C+

4. THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI, SCHOOL OF DENTAL SCIENCES, NAIROBI COUNTY

Universities are the highest learning institutions in Kenya and the World over. They offer training majorly in undegraduate and Post Graduate Studies. In Kenya, the Courses offered in the Universities must be accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities.   Universities are the highest learning institutions in Kenya and the World over. They offer training majorly in undegraduate and Post Graduate Studies. In Kenya, the Courses offered in the Universities must be accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. Universities run online platforms; portals and websites, where such services as admission application, online accommodation booking, E-learning, exams results downloads and many are provided to students, staff and the general public. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities. These learning modules include: Full time, School Based, Distance Learning, Evening & Weekend classes and E-Learning.

MOSORIOT TTC LOCATION

Mosoriot TTC is a teacher training college located in Mosoriot town of Nandi county; within the Rift Valley Region of Kenya.

MOSORIOT TTC APPLICATION FORM & INTAKES REQUIREMENTS

Intakes for new students to TTCs usually occur in August/September, every year.

MOSORIOT TTC COURSES APPLICATION PROCEDURE VIA THE KUCCPS STUDENT PORTAL

This is the main procedure through which you can file your application.

  • Applications are made online at the Kenya Universities & Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS)’s website: – www.kuccps.net on specified dates when the site is announced open for applications. However, students who miss this dates may apply directly to the College.

  • Applicants who sat for KCSE in 2011 and previous years and have not benefited from any Government Sponsorship are also eligible to apply.

If you did not manage to get placement via KUCCPS, then you still can get one via the TTC. Simply contact the TTC for direct admission. (See contacts below).

MOSORIOT TTC MINIMUM DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION COURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:

  • Mean grade: C+ (plus)
  • English: C (plain)
  • Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.
  • Two specialization subjects (subjects you intend to teach at high school): C+

LOCATION

Masai Technical Training Institute is a Government institution under Technical, Vocational Education & Training Authority (TVETA), under the Ministry of Education. It is situated in Kajiado Town (Along Nairobi – Namanga Road) 70 Kms from Nairobi. It has a huge staff of fully qualified Trainers in their respective fields.

The institute started offering Technical courses in 1986. Since then, the institute has registered more than twelve thousand (12,000) trainees.

A Board of Governors appointed by the Ministry of Education manages the institute. The day-to-day management of the institute is vested in the principal.

Financial Aid

The government of Kenya through HELB awards loans and bursaries to needy students. All students are advised to apply for the HELB loan during admission (for those in need) in order to meet their educational goals. In addition the county CDF kitty gives bursaries to needy students through the county bursary offices.

Hostel Booking

It is very important for you to book your Hostel early to avoid last minutes rush. You will always be informed when the booking is ready and rooms available for booking.

The system allows you to reserve a room for a short while and upon payment and validation from the the deans office, the room will be allocated to you. Reserving the room does not automatically guarantee you that you will have it.

Kenyatta University New Account Creation

Kenyatta university has launched a new student portal for online registration for courses and accommodation. In order to register you need to first create an account. Please follow the steps below to register for an account: Enter the following details as per the steps : 1. Visit the student Log in Portal; https://studentsts.ku.ac.ke/Login.aspx . Student ID should be the last sequential numbers of the student number. For Example: if the Actual Student number is     M25S/5942/2005. The student Id should be “5942/2005”. 2. Enter your First Name & Last Name. 3. “Place of Birth” is provided so as to help the students generate their forgotten password.
