The Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications and information engineering is a five-year programme that aims to provide students with sound theoretical and practical training in telecommunications and information technology.

In the first two years of the bachelor program, students are introduced to wide range of basic science and engineering topics such as chemistry, calculus, engineering drawing, circuit and network theory, mechanical engineering,  etc.

In the third, fourth and fifth years, courses are more specialized and industrially oriented including optical communication, signal processing, microprocessor design, image processing, computer communication, cellular communication, digital signal processing, teletraffic engineering and engineering project.  The lectures and laboratories, including industrial training, provide the student invaluable experiences and knowledge of the design and implementation of industrial system.

Career Opportunities

The telecommunication and information engineering sector has become very high growth area.  Career opportunities are available in the following areas: Test engineers, telecom software engineers, telecommunication product managers, wireless access protocol specialists, telecommunication product manager network security and network planning.

Maragua TTC is located in Maragua town, Maragua constituency in Murang’a county; within the Central region of Kenya.

The TTC offers both certificate and diploma courses.

MARAGUA TTC APPLICATION FORM & INTAKES REQUIREMENTS

Intakes for new students to TTCs usually occur in August/September, every year.

MARAGUA TTC COURSES APPLICATION PROCEDURE VIA THE KUCCPS STUDENT PORTAL

This is the main procedure through which you can file your application.

  • Applications are made online at the Kenya Universities & Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS)’s website: – www.kuccps.net on specified dates when the site is announced open for applications. However, students who miss this dates may apply directly to the College.

  • Applicants who sat for KCSE in 2011 and previous years and have not benefited from any Government Sponsorship are also eligible to apply.

If you did not manage to get placement via KUCCPS, then you still can get one via the TTC. Simply contact the TTC for direct admission. (See contacts below).

MARAGUA TTC MINIMUM DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION COURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:

  • Mean grade: C+ (plus)
  • English: C (plain)
  • Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.
  • Two specialization subjects (subjects you intend to teach at high school): C+

How to download 2020/2021 KUCCPS Student’s Admission letter to Presbyterian University of East Africa; 2020 KUCCPS Admission list pdf download

Congratulations for getting admission at Presbyterian University of East Africa after your successful application. Students joining Presbyterian University of East Africa are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

Eregi Teachers Training College located in Kakamega town in Kakamega county in the Western region of Kenya; Along Chavakali-Bushangala Road.

The TTC offers both certificate and diploma courses.

EREGI TTC APPLICATION FORM & INTAKES REQUIREMENTS

Intakes for new students to TTCs usually occur in August/September, every year.

EREGI TTC COURSES APPLICATION PROCEDURE VIA THE KUCCPS STUDENT PORTAL

This is the main procedure through which you can file your application.

  • Applications are made online at the Kenya Universities & Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS)’s website: – www.kuccps.net on specified dates when the site is announced open for applications. However, students who miss this dates may apply directly to the College.

  • Applicants who sat for KCSE in 2011 and previous years and have not benefited from any Government Sponsorship are also eligible to apply.

If you did not manage to get placement via KUCCPS, then you still can get one via the TTC. Simply contact the TTC for direct admission. (See contacts below).

EREGI TTC MINIMUM DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION COURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:

  • Mean grade: C+ (plus)
  • English: C (plain)
  • Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.
  • Two specialization subjects (subjects you intend to teach at high school): C+

Congratulations for getting admission at Management University of Africa (MUA) after your successful application. Students joining Management University of Africa (MUA) are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

Kenyatta university has launched a new student portal for online registration for courses and accommodation. In order to register you need to first create an account.
