How to download 2020/2021 KUCCPS Student’s Admission letter to Tharaka University College; 2020 KUCCPS Admission list pdf download

Tharaka University College is happy to inform the first year (New) students who have been selected to join the University in the various degree programmes that they can now get access to their Letters of admission to the university. Congratulations for getting admission at University after your successful application. Students joining university are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

To download the university Admission letter;

  1. Access the KUCCPS Admission Letters Link at https://tharaka.ac.ke/
  2. Enter your KCSE Index Number and log in.
  3. Locate the Admission Letter download tab and click on it to download it.
  4. Print the Admission letter and read the instructions keenly. In case you have queries, please direct them to the University by using the official (provided) contacts on your admission letter.
THE THARAKA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE ADMISSION LETTER

The University admission letter is an important document that enables a prospective student to prepare adequately before joining the institution. Contents of the University admission letter are:

ASUMBI TTC LOCATION

Asumbi TTC is located in Rangwe constituency, Kajulu Sub-location, East kagan Location in Rangwe Division of Homa Bay Sub-county in Homa Bay County; within the Nyanza region of Kenya.

Asumbi TTC offers training in a large number of certificate and diploma courses. These courses include:

ASUMBI TTC MINIMUM DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION COURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:

  • Mean grade: C+ (plus)
  • English: C (plain)
  • Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.
  • Two specialization subjects (subjects you intend to teach at high school): C+

Kisii university May-August semester details

The Kisii University has announced that learning will be resumed towards the end of May, 2020 and has asked students to clear any outstanding fees balances. The university, just like other learning institutions in the country, shut down its doors in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the country; in mid-March.

“You are all advised to pay fees for the May-August semester before commencement of your studies on Monday, 25th May 2020. Any student who will still be having a fee balance by Monday, 25th May 2020 will only have two weeks to clear the balance. Please do not allow yourself to be locked out of the classroom due to late fee payment since no student will be allowed to proceed with studies without completing all the May-August semester fees.” says the university’s Vice Chancellor.

In a break from the norm, students will not be reporting to school but will have their studies via the E-learning platform.

“Please note that the University has invested heavily putting together the best e-learning infrastructure for teaching and learning, and has also invested heavily in building capacity of the staff involved in e-learning. You are therefore assured of smooth learning through the e-learning mode of study.” adds the Vice Chancellor.

The interplay between computer science and mathematics is substantial and growing.  Designing and analyzing efficient algorithms and the design of reliable software for mission critical applications inevitably rely on advance mathematical tolls. Apply for a Government funded Certificate or Diploma Course today; Ultimate guide

The Government, through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), is undertaking a continuous enrollment of all Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate holders to join national Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions covering polytechnics and technical colleges at Diploma and Certificate levels.

The Government will subsidise tuition fees for enrolled learners by KShs 30,000 per year. In addition, the students will be able to apply for the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) student loans of up to KShs 40,000 annually.

All past and recent KCSE certificate holders, irrespective of their grades, are encouraged to apply for courses of their choice on the KUCCPS website http://www.kuccps.ac.ke.

KUCCPS has service desks at Huduma Centres in Nairobi (GPO and Makadara), Kisumu, Kitui, Mombasa, Kakamega, Garissa, Eldoret, Nakuru, Meru and Nyeri.

The current recruitment drive is open until December 31st 2019 for courses starting in January 2020.

OPENING OF THE PORTAL

This year KUCCPS has opened the portal for all form four graduates who want to further studies to make their applications, online. The online application portal is now open and will close on December 31, 2019.

KUCCPS Requirements to join Tvet Institutions

To qualify for TVET programmes, one must meet these basic requirements: Must score;

Level KCSE Mean Grade
Diploma C- (minus) and above
Craft Certificate D (plain) and above
Artisan Certificate D-(minus) and below

 

The available programmes, institutions, minimum entry requirements and the application procedure are available on the KUCCPS Student’s Portal accessible through the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke.

ELIGIBILITY

All KCSE certificate holders who have not benefited from government sponsorship before are eligible to apply where they meet the minimum requirements.

Successful applicants will be admitted to a college of their choice as early as January, 2020.

Applicants who need assistance should visit the KUCCPS desks in the following Huduma Centres: Nairobi (GPO and Makadara), Eldoret, Meru, Nyeri, Kisumu, Kakamega, Nakuru, Kitui, Garissa and Mombasa. Universities are the highest learning institutions in Kenya and the World over. They offer training majorly in undegraduate and Post Graduate Studies. In Kenya, the Courses offered in the Universities must be accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. Universities run online platforms; portals and websites, where such services as admission application, online accommodation booking, E-learning, exams results downloads and many are provided to students, staff and the general public. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities. These learning modules include: Full time, School Based, Distance Learning, Evening & Weekend classes and E-Learning.

Egerton university to slash up to 40% of workers’ salaries

Egerton university staff face turbulent financial times after their salaries were slashed by the varsity. The pay cut is as a result of the current covid-19 pandemic that has paralyzed learning and other key operations not only in Kenya but also world over. The pandemic that has seen unprecedented job losses is now threatening to eat into workers’ salaries.

The university’s  Vice Chancellor Rose Mwonya now says the university will not be able to pay all its employees their full April and subsequent month’s salaries.

“Due to Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the whole country, Egerton University is not able to generate enough funds internally to be able to pay salaries for the month of April 2020. This might continue for a while during the pandemic period,” Says the vice chancellor in a memo.

According to the memo, workers in lower cadres will continue receiving their full salaries while those in higher job grades will face a pay cut of up to 40%. In a quick rejoinder, though, the university promises to pay the arrears in future.

“Staff in grade 1-4 will receive their full 100% net salaries as indicated in their payslips. Staff in grade 5-19 will receive 60% of their net salaries as indicated in their respective payslips. The balance of 40% will be paid as soon as funds are available,” she adds.

Public universities largely depend on funding from the national government to run their operations. Other major sources of income include students’ fees and the Higher Education Loans Board, helb.

The covid-19 pandemic has seen prolonged closure of learning institutions; since mid-March when the first case was reported in the country. The Education ministry is mulling the next course of action and has already constituted a committee of stakeholders to come up with proposals on how to safely reopen the learning institutions.

The committee dubbed ‘National Covid-19 Education Response Committee’ has already kicked off its operations and Kenyans have one week to make their submissions.

It is not only the universities that are facing challenges in paying their employees. Schools haven’t been spared either and in fact some have sent their staff on unpaid leaves. Public schools, just like universities, get most of their funding from the government and students’ fees.

Congratulations for getting your admission at Great Lakes University after your successful application. Students joining Great Lakes University are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after doing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.
