The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the appointment of CS Sharon J. Kisire, MBS as the new TSC Vice Chairperson, effective from 21st May 2026.
She takes over following the completion of the tenure of Ms. Leila Ali Abdi, MBS.
Kisire will deputize Dr Jamleck Muturi John who is the Chairperson to the largest employer in Kenya.
The terms for the following 2 TSC commissioners have ended:
- Mbage Njuguna
- Leila Abdi
Details:
- Their 6-year non-renewable terms expired on May 2, 2026.
- President Ruto declared the vacancies and appointed a selection panel in April 2026 to recruit replacements.
- Both were appointed on 4/5/2020 and were listed to exit in 2026.
Current TSC commissioners still in office:
- Dr Jamleck Muturi John – Chairperson, term ends in 2027
- Timon Oyucho – term ends in 2027
- Nicodemus Ojuma Anyang – till 2027
- Sharon Kahindi – till 2027
- Sharon Jelagat Kisire – up to 2027
- Annceta Wafukho – exits in 2027
- Salesa Adano Abudo – exits in 2027
The interviews for the 2 vacant positions are scheduled for June 2-5, 2026.
