TSC TPAD Account (https://tpad2.tsc.go.ke) creation, log in and use

The Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD 2) is a performance evaluation mechanism that assesses the performance of a teacher as per the set standards prescribed by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC.

Section 52 of the Code of Regulations for Teachers (2015) stipulates that the Commission shall in administering the performance appraisal system: –

  • Require Heads of institution to provide oversight role in the performance appraisal for the teachers in their respective institutions;
  • Use performance appraisal reports for purpose of promotion, deployment and other rewards as may be prescribed from time to time.
  • Identify training needs and take corrective measures in cases of unsatisfactory performance.
  • Develop and review criteria, guidelines and tools for performance appraisal from time to time which shall be accessible in the commission website or as the Commission may advice.

How to create TSC TPAD Portal

To create a new TPAD account its simple and easier.You only need to follow these steps:

  1. Click on https://tpad2.tsc.go.ke/auth/create_account to access the new account creation portal.
  2. Fill in the fields shown; TSC Number, ID Number, Phone Number (in the format 07xxxxxxxx), Email Address, Password, Confirm Password and Mode of Notification.
  3. Click on ‘Create’ Once done.
  4. A success message is shown and you will receive SMS token on your phone within a short time.
  5. Enter the Code received via SMS and click on ‘Verify Token’. This completes the registration process.

Adding your Bio Data on the new TPAD 2 System

Next, you need to add your level of Education and subject combination details. Use the tabs listed below to update your profile;

  • Add your information: Bio/ Institution Information, Contact Information.
  • Select ‘Subjects Combination’ and add your teaching subjects. Select your subjects combinations from the list and click on ‘Submit’ when done.
  • Then, click on ‘Level of Education’ to add details. Select your KCSE grade, Highest level of Education and Institution of Study. Next, click on Submit.

ROLES OF THE TEACHERS IN THE NEW TPAD

Each teacher will be expected to do a self appraisal in the various areas, create an appraisal and upload the data online.

ROLES OF THE PRINCIPAL IN THE NEW TPAD
  • Inducting new teachers on TPAD
  • Capture the new teachers in TIMS
  • Activating new teachers on TPAD
  • Remove outgoing teachers

The Principal also performs the following roles in TPAD:

  1. Provide oversight role in the performance appraisal for the teachers’
  2. Continuously monitor and evaluate the appraisal process and submit termly reports,
  3. Appraise the Deputy Principal,
  4. Schedule meetings for appraising the Deputy Principal,
  5. Observing the Deputy Principal and
  6. Countersigning officer for all the teachers in the school Arbitration
ROLES OF THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL IN THE NEW TPAD

The Deputy Principal performs these roles in the new TPAD 2 system:

  1. Update the Lesson Attendance,
  2. Register on weekly basis,
  3. Appraise the HODs and teachers,
  4. Schedule meetings for appraising the HODs and teachers,
  5. Observing the HODs and teachers,
  6. Arbitration for the teachers

The new TPAD tool has 5 standards classified into 3 broad categories as follows:

A. THE INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY/TEACHING STANDARD

This is the first standard which has the following assessment areas:

1. Professional Knowledge and Practice where a teacher should:
  • Demonstrate mastery of the subject content and use appropriate instructional methods (Wt-3)
  • Undertake lesson observation at least once a term (Wt-3)

3 Teacher Professional Development in which you are expected to;

B TEACHER CONDUCT AND PROFESSIONALISM STANDARD.

This second standard contains the following areas:

4 Teacher Conduct & Professionalism where a teacher should show;
  • Ability to act in the best interest of the learner and maintain high standards of ethics and professional requirements within and outside the institution (Wt-6)
  • Demonstrate knowledge on the legal requirements in education (Wt-6).
  • Comply with the professional requirements in teaching and learning (Wt-6).
  • Ability to observe punctuality in lesson attendance, performance of duty and preparation of professional documents(Wt-6)
  • Timely syllabus coverage and meeting of deadlines (Wt-6)
C COMMUNITY PRACTICE STANDARD

This is the last standard and has the following parameters:

How to Select Grade 10 Subjects and schools

To select Grade 10 schools and subjects under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenya, Grade 9 learners should first choose a career pathway (STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts & Sports Science). Then, they’ll select three subject combinations within that pathway and finally, choose four schools for each combination, totaling 12 schools. To select preferred Grade 10 Schools and Subject Combinations, use the Ministry of Education portal selection.education.go.ke.
  1. 1. How you can Choose a Career Pathway:

    • Identify your interests and potential career aspirations.
    • Select one of the three pathways: STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts & Sports Science.
    • Confirm your choice to proceed with the pathway.
  2. 2. Select Subject Combinations:

    • The portal will provide you with a list of subject combinations available within your chosen pathway.
    • Choose three subject combinations that align with your interests and strengths.
  3. 3. Select Preferred Senior Schools:

    • For each subject combination, select four schools from the available clusters.
    • This ensures a diverse range of options and equal representation from different categories of schools.

Final Recommendations on the Implementation of Competency-Based Curriculum

  1. Adopt a 2-6-3-3-3 Education Structure: 2 years Pre-Primary School; 6 years Primary School, 3 years Junior School (JS), 3 years Senior School (SS) and a minimum of 3 years at University. MoE to establish a comprehensive school system where all levels of learning from Pre-Primary to Grade 9 are managed as one institution headed by Head of Institution; TSC to provide career progression guidelines for teachers in comprehensive schools; and provide guidelines on Alternative Provision of Basic Education and
  2. KICD to rationalise the number of learning areas and curriculum designs in terms of scope, integration of subjects within a learning area, gaps, content overload and overlaps in Basic Education as follows:
    • Pre-Primary (PP1-PP2): the learning areas not to exceed five (5);
    • Lower Primary (Grade 1-3): The learning areas not to exceed seven (7);
    • Upper Primary (Grade 4-6): The learning areas not to exceed eight (8);
    • Junior School (Grade 7-9): The learning areas not to exceed nine (9);
    • Senior School (Grade 10-12): The learning areas not to exceed (7) Subjects; and
    • Review CSL to reduce overload, overlaps, cost and promote community linkages; and adapt all SNE learning resources including those for stage based curriculum at levels of basic

  • Grade 12: To comprise 70% summative assessment and 30% (SBAs; Assessment of CSL, values and competencies).

Integrate key tenets (VbE, CSL, PE&E) to support successful implementation of CBC at all levels of Education and MoE to provide structures and guidelines to implement a Whole School Approach to the implementation of VbE; structured religious/moral instruction and Counselling programs; sensitise parents, caregivers, guardians and the community on their role in the learning process.
  2. MoE to provide for:
    • Selection and placement of learners into career pathways to Senior School based on performance and personal
    • Computation of KCSE mean score by KNEC to be based on Mathematics, English/Kiswahili, and 5 other best performed
  3. MoE to review the policy guidelines on textbooks and other instructional materials to:
    • conform to the revised curriculum designs;
    • ensure that the best two evaluated textbooks by KICD are supplied to each public school and strengthen KICD’s capacity to publish course books in areas where publishers do not submit manuscripts for
  4. Restructure SEPU to School Learning and Instructional Materials Centre (SLIMC) to coordinate the procurement and distribution of MoE approved textbooks and other learning resources. KICD to liaise with School Learning and Instructional Materials Centre (SLIMC) in facilitating procurement of digital resources hosted in Kenya Education Cloud (KEC).
  5. MoE to develop guidelines on foundational learning for Early Years
  6. MoE with support from MoICT to leverage technology at all levels of education by developing ICT infrastructure for curriculum delivery; improve digital literacy among teachers, parents and other key
  7. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Interior’s Civil Registration Services to integrate registration of births with EMIS and provide a unique identifier for every child from EMIS to be restructured and renamed Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS).

1. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR QUALITY ASSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT KICD GRADE 4 ONE (1) POST

The Assistant Director- Quality Assurance and Risk Management will report to the Deputy Director- Corporate Planning, Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
(a) Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • i. Oversee the implementation and administration of ISO standards for the Institute;
  • ii. Establish and implement Information Security Management System (ISMS) standards;
  • i. Initiating the development of standards, systems and procedures for
  • compliance, quality assurance and risk management;
  • ii. Initiating the preparation and spear heading the implementation of quality assurance and enterprise risk management plans;
  • iii. Coordinating the implementation of various quality management systems/standards within the Institute;

  • ii. Identifying programmes for airing;
  • iii. Vetting programmes;
  • iv. Scheduling commercials and adverts;
  • v. Feeding programmes, promos and adverts into the play-out server for daily transmission;
  • vi. Cataloguing the programmes aired/to be aired;
  • vii. Tracking customer satisfaction; preparing programmes line-up;
  • viii. Programme acquisition;
  • ix. Monitoring the effective transmission of programmes;
  • x. Developing and reviewing long and short term goals for development of audio- visual programs;

The Paralegal Officer/ Legal Clerk will report to the Assistant Director Legal Services.

a) Duties and Responsibilities

  • i. Maintain accurate records of the Council minutes
  • ii. Keep records of Council attendance
  • iii. Records all corrections of the minutes
  • iv. Distribute copies of Committee minutes and actions to Committee members promptly after meetings
  • v. Keeps records of all Council correspondences
  • vi. Make sure members are notified of Council meetings among others

Students joining  Maseno University (MSU) are selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KCCPS. The students are selected after doing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination and getting the minimum University entry requirement. The KCSE students must first apply to KUCCPS to be selected to preferred programmes. The students can apply at school level or apply individually during the first and second revision windows.

Once the applications are closed, KUCCPS then places the KCSE students in preferred courses depending on the student’s score, number of available vacancies against applicants among other selection criteria. In not satisfied with the University that you have been selected to join then you can apply for Inter-Institution Transfer.

The placement body then announces the selection results and students can access the admission lists and download their admission letters.

Grade 6 KPSEA Candidates Are Informed as KNEC Releases Complete 2025 Examination Schedule

The Kenya National Examination Council has announced stringent measures for Grade 6 candidates in advance of national assessments. The examinations will take place from October 24 to October 29, 2025.

As per KNEC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sarah Njeru, candidates must arrive at examination centers fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled time. “Any student arriving thirty minutes late will encounter serious consequences,” she cautioned.

KNEC has provided comprehensive timetables indicating that Mathematics will initiate the assessment period on October 27. English papers will follow on the same day after a thirty-minute intermission.

Candidates are subjected to strict prohibitions against possessing mobile phones within examination rooms. Students discovered with electronic devices face immediate disqualification from the entire assessment.

Science subjects will be the focal point on the second day of examinations, commencing at 8:30 AM. Kiswahili (‘Swahili language’) assessments will occur at 11:10 AM on that day.

Security protocols necessitate thorough searches of candidates prior to their entry into examination halls. Dr. Njeru underscored the importance of preserving examination credibility through rigorous monitoring protocols.

Educators have received explicit directives regarding the maintenance of assessment integrity throughout this period. “Kusaidia wanafunzi” (‘helping students’) during examinations will lead to severe disciplinary consequences.

Creative Arts will conclude the assessment schedule on Wednesday, October 29. Social Studies papers will finalize the examination calendar on that same morning.

Special arrangements have been made to accommodate candidates requiring modified examination materials. Braille users will be allotted an additional forty minutes for each paper.

Centre managers are required to ensure the completion of “maandalizi” (‘preparations’) prior to examination dates. Local security teams will oversee all examination materials continuously.

Education officials have confirmed the deployment of monitors across examination centers nationwide. Multi-agency teams will supervise the seamless execution of the assessment process.

Teachers have been issued a strict warning against “kuingilia” (‘interference’) with examination procedures. Examination supervisors must immediately report any suspicious activities.

Parents have received recommendations regarding appropriate candidate preparation for assessment days. Transportation arrangements should ensure compliance with early arrival requirements.

School heads are obliged to ensure “usafi” (‘cleanliness’) of examination venues prior to the assessment dates. Adequate ventilation is mandatory for all examination rooms.

The assessment council has emphasized the maintenance of quiet zones surrounding examination centers. Communities adjacent to schools are required to observe silence during examination hours.

Main syllabus objective

By the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to legibly write a notice using the right format, content, language and tone.

  1. a) What is a notice

It is brief piece of paper written by a person or institution giving written information to a target group which is usually put in public places.

  1. b) Why write a notice
  • To inform/ notify people of: events, meetings, changes in routine, new appointments, new deployments etc
  • To give warning to a group of people
  1. c) How to write a notice
  2. Read the question and comprehend the major function of the notice and other hints such as activity, place, time, target group etc. (Notices focusing on school events are the best fr practice)
  3. Write the right format
    1. When writing or designing a notice, your focus has to be on writing a notice and not drawing a notice since English test communication ability using words. Any standard question on notice will give room for enough writing based on student’s environment. (Ignore content in text books with drawings as notice.)
    2. Write the letter-head (name) of the institution or club sending the notice
    3. Write date on right hand side- a good advent has a date to help target audience know it is a recent advert
    4. Give a notice call or invitation in bold eg. NOTICE!
    5. Sign the notice by name/job title/ organizagion/ management.
    6. Frame the notice- for purposes of exam, never focus on making the frame flashy.
    7. Drawing- sketch an eye catching picture capturing the theme of the notice can be drawn. (Do not focus on drawing; it is composition writing)
  4. Write the right content- content to focus on:
  5. a) Activity or event- what you are notifying, b)Place- where it is. c) Time and day- when it will be in terms of day, date and time, d) Target population for the notice, f) the conditions such as fee and rules g) any other issue in the rubrics if the question, h) contacts for the main contact person such as email or telephone, i) a parting short such as “Welcome.’
  6. Write the right language
  7. Language must aim at notifying or stating the information as it is and not convincing/persuading the target as done in an advertisement notice.
  8. Writing in note form is better than prosodic form when writing the body of a notice
  9. Be brief- nobody likes reading long notices
  10. Most important information is bolded/capitalized/undelined
  11. Notice call is caligraphed (use blue, black and pencil only)

GOSETA HIGH SCHOOL’S BRIEF HISTORY

Goseta Boys High school was established in 1989 and received its full registration in 1993. The first batch of candidates was presented for KCSE in 1994.The school remained a mixed day school till 2009 when it reverted to a boys’ only institution.

The school is located in the County of Trans Nzoia in the sub county of Kwanza Kwanza Administrative Division. It is to be found 200 meters along the Kitale Kapenguria road six kilometers from Kitale town.

The School commenced as a mixed day secondary school in 1989. Today the school is a boys only institution after the girls in the school were moved to an own compound adjacent to the boys compound hived off from a local primary school.

The school has been presenting candidates for the Kenya National Examination Council each year since 1992.The performance as measured by KCSE results has been impressive and has been on a steady upward trend each successive year as evidenced by the examination results of KNEC (KCSE results analyses). The candidature rose from 5 in 1992 to 191 in 2013.
