KMTC Admission Letters September intake selected candidates

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) admission committee has concluded its review of applications for the September 2021 intake.

All admission letters for successful applicants have been mailed admission letters to all successful applicants.

Admission decisions are based on a first-come, first-served basis, alongside academic performance and payment of a commitment fee.
Given the limited spaces in each admitted class, it is not possible to offer admission to all candidates who meet our requirements.

This year’s admission requests were the largest and far exceeded the number of training slots across the 71 KMTC Campuses.

Please be aware that the next KMTC intake is in March 2022, and applicants’ who did not make it in the September intake will have their applications slotted for consideration, at that time.

KMTC is the largest producer of Clinical Officers in the Country- Research

Health Cabinet Secretary Sen. Mutahi Kagwe has commended the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for its role in the training of Clinical Officers for the local and global market.
He was speaking during the official opening of the 23rd Kenya Clinical Officer’s Association Scientific Conference, taking place at the Pride Inn hotel in Shanzu, Mombasa County. The three-day conference ran from 27th to 29th October, 2021.
He appreciated the strategic role played by Clinical Officers in propelling the country towards achievement of the Government’s Universal Health Coverage Agenda by 2022. “KMTC is the largest producer of Clinical Officers in the Country,” he said, urging the College to leverage on technology to enhance service delivery and training curriculum to prepare graduates for paperless clinics.

He said discussions are underway to create more employment opportunities for Clinical Officers to work not only in Kenya but also outside the country. This, he said called for aligning of the training curricula with today’s realities in the health sector and aspirations of the future as well. “Our curricular must meet international standards because Kenya is producing a global health workforce.”
He encouraged participants and medical trainees to familiarize themselves with emerging technological advancement and non- clinical issues in the healthcare field to ensure they retain a competitive edge in the global arena.
He was accompanied by KMTC CEO Prof. Michael Kiptoo, who gave the key note speech on the relevance of KMTC Alumni in the attainment of the Universal Health Coverage Agenda.
Reiterating the CS’s sentiments, Prof. Kiptoo encouraged healthcare practitioners to take advantage of global opportunities to expand their knowledge and gain new skills. “As a College, we have put mechanisms in place for blended training, where our students can attend online classes and practical training,” he said.
He observed that in addition to modern skills laboratories to support teaching and learning, the College has set up a simulation laboratory, as part of embracing technology to keep abreast with the dynamic health sector and to further enhance training of specialized cadres.
On her part, KMTC Deputy Director Academics Dr. Nyawira Mwangi emphasized on the importance of research in advancing healthcare service delivery. She called upon participants to go beyond the obvious to support patients live healthier lives.
Present during the event were Ministry of Health Director Clinical Services Mr. Manase Bocha, Dr. Julius Ogato, representing Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth and officials of the Clinical Officer’s Union.

Thank you for your interest in the Kenya Medical Training College. We are happy that you are looking closely at the exciting opportunities available here in KMTC. KMTC seeks to enrol and graduate applicants who will develop and grow educationally and personally and will contribute to the College community, and the broader society.

To that end, the role of the Admissions and Records Office is to recruit, admit, and encourage enrolment of applicants who are spiritually mature, academically excellent, accomplished in extra-curricular endeavours, and broadly diverse through individualized review and professional judgment.

Applications: 

All applications are ONLINE from the application portal on this website www.kmtc.ac.ke. The prospective candidates apply for admission into courses for each academic year for Regular or Parallel Category. The Regular category have subsidized fee with optional accommodation but no choice for campus while the parallel category have non subsidized fee, no accommodation option but have option for campuses choice in more than sixty five (65) campuses situated in different parts of the country depending on the courses.

Application Procedure:

  • Prospective candidates are expected to visit the applicants’ portal, read the advertisement to know the various courses and their specific entry requirements.
  • Candidates interested in making an application are advised to READ the application guidelines (preservice/Inservice) available on the application portal
  • Candidates are advised to follow the steps carefully given in the application guideline to the end to be sure of application success.
  • Take note that the application period has timelines as stipulated on the advertisement please observe them

  1. KMTC has many courses at various levels and varying entry requirement clusters hence taking time to read the advertisement that has key information necessary for the application to be made with clear information
  2. Determine the course you would like to study and be sure you qualify.
  3. Plan for your training at KMTC on time, funding and social support
  4. Be ready to take up your course if successful in any part of this country since our campuses are spread all over the country
  5. Follow APPLICATION GUIDELINES and ensure you have applied in time and correctly
