The Kenya National Examinations Council, Knec, has invited thousands of Examiners to mark the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, Exams.
The examiners will report the various Knec marking Centres; majorly in Nairobi and a few others at neighbouring towns.
The Exams Council has at the same time uploaded the marking invitation letters for the examiners to download; ahead of reporting.
“Dear KCSE 2025 examiners here, the letters are already uploaded in examiners, portal. Accept and print. God bless you.” Reads a communique from Knec.

Examiners from ‘Cheating Schools’ barred.
KNEC has continued to punish examiners whose schools were suspected of exam irregularity in 2024. Several markers were caught with a rude shock as they missed out on the invitation. Only those who had transferred to other stations have survived.
In 2024, Knec sent this message to the barred Examiners: “This is to inform you that The Kenya National Examinations Council has revoked your invitation to participate in the marking of 2024 KCSE Examination. Please DO NOT report to the marking centre.”
In 2024, Knec cancelled results for 840 candidates.
“The council is empowered in law, as provided in the Kenya National Examination Council Handling of Examination Irregularities Rules of 2015, Legal Notice Number 132 of 2015, Rule Number Eight, to withhold the results of any candidate or examination centre suspected of having been involved in an examination irregularity or malpractice pending completion of investigations,” Education CS Ogamba said; during the release of the results.
In addition to the 840 cancellations, the Education CS revealed that the results of another 2,829 candidates suspected of involvement in examination malpractice have been withheld.
The Council has also invited newly trained examiners; who will be marking for the first time.
