KNEC has set a deadline for projects related to the 2025 national exams.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has posted projects and tasks for the national exams that will take place in late 2025.

On May 12, 2025, KNEC announced that these tasks are for students in Grades 3, 7, and 8. Students who will take the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) also need to complete their projects.

The notice mentioned that the projects and tasks can be found on the Competency Based Assessment (CBA) portal (https://cba.knec.ac.ke) for schools to access.

Instructions
Schools must give these projects and tasks to students and upload their scores on the CBA portal by the deadline.

Teachers will evaluate the students as they work on these tasks and score them based on the guidelines provided.

Headteachers must keep all records and evidence from the assessments.

Deadline
Students in the stage-based pathway must submit their projects by July 31, 2025.

For KJSEA projects, students have until August 30, 2025, to upload their scores to the portal.

Schools must complete the projects and upload scores for Grades 3, 7, and 8 by July 31, 2025, and for KJSEA projects by August 30, 2025.

If schools do not upload the scores on time, they will be fined Ksh 500 for each student.

KNEC emphasized that a fine of Ksh 500 will be charged for any KJSEA project uploads made after the deadline.
