Knec announces Examiners training for Colleges Teacher Education Exams

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will train College tutors on the marking of Teacher Education assessments during April 2025.

The cost of the training will be Ksh. 10,500 (Kenya Shillings Ten Thousand Five Hundred) and will exclusively be paid by the shortlisted candidates who will be informed via text message (SMS) and the portal on the payment process.

The training will consist of both online and in-person sessions. Details regarding access to online training materials, dates, and the location for the in-person training will be provided to the shortlisted trainees at a later time.

KNEC will subsequently recruit such examiners based on the criteria specific to the recruitment of examiners in accordance with the personnel requirements for each examination paper.

Tutors who have already completed training as DSTE, DPTE, or DECTE assessors and are included in the KNEC database of examiners do not need to submit an application.

           CRITERIAFORTRAININGASAN ASSESSOR

  1. General requirements for all the trainee assessors
    Must be a practicing tutor/lecturer in the relevant subject areas at the level of assessment in a Teacher Training College, University or TVET institution;
  2. Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC);
  3. Must have a Degree in Education and above;
  4. Must have a minimum Teacher Training experience of three (3) years;
  5. Must NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action from TSC;
  6. Must be recommended by his/her head of institution; and
  7. Must be below 50 years of age.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Applicants are required to do the following:Access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke;
  • Those with Cp2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords;
  • Those who have forgotten their Cp2 passwords should click on reset password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging into the system;
  • Those without Cp2 accounts should click on create account and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials to access the system;
  • Upon successful login, complete their personal profile and save. On the dashboard, click on apply for training and all the declared vacancies will be available for the applicants to choose.
  • The training slots are limited and only qualified tutors who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise.
