Kiharu day secondary school principals are currently on vacation abroad: Discover the reason.

Twelve principals are enjoying a holiday in Dubai and Malaysia, organized by MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Last year, the Kiharu MP initiated a program whereby principals of the highest-performing and most-improved day secondary schools in each of the six wards are rewarded with a holiday.

The purpose of this incentive is to foster competition among the schools.

One principal, after achieving the top position for two consecutive years, was offered a different option.

“Mukangu secondary school principal previously visited Dubai last year after his school excelled in his ward and led again this year; therefore, instead of returning to Dubai, he opted for an alternative destination,” Nyoro stated.

“We agreed that we would never penalize success. Even if a principal excels every year, they will reap the benefits of this program each time. ”

The principals will reside for five days in their holiday destination, after which they will be transported back to their homes, with all expenses covered.

The holidays are intended as a gesture of appreciation for the teachers who have led their schools to enhanced performance, Nyoro remarked, while also motivating their colleagues to achieve greater success.

Teachers whose subjects showed the most improvement and highest performance are taken for holidays in Mombasa.

“They utilize the Standard Gauge Railway to travel to Mombasa, stay there for five days, and then we fly them back to Nairobi and transport them to their homes. ”

The MP, who addressed attendees at Ihura stadium on Thursday, emphasized that the program is being executed under the Kiharu Fanikisha initiative, which also supports youth through short courses in local vocational training institutions.

“However, since the motivation program cannot be funded by the NGCDF, we seek additional funds from other sources to support it. ”

The MP spoke during the graduation ceremony of 1,200 youth who have completed a four-month free training program in cosmetology, driving, and hospitality.

The MP noted that the training is designed to empower local youths and enhance their employability, adding that young people have shown a keen interest in technical skills that are increasingly in demand in the labor market.
