This is the new KUCCPS Revision of courses procedure for placement: The KUCCPs portal will be used by students for application of university, college and TVET programme choices
Enter your index number, the year that you sat for KCSE examination and plus your
birth certificate number according to the information given to KNEC. In case the birth certificate number was not provided during registration tyout should use their KCPE index number as the password.

For you to access a particular programme click on the group within which the programme falls in e.g. if it is education click on it.
Click on the particular programme that you want to pursue i.e. if it is Bachelor of Education (Arts), click on it.
Note down the 7 digit programme codes for programmes you are interested in so you can fill them in later.
STEP 2: APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT
To access Programme Application Form, you MUST pay the required amount through your mobile phone by Mpesa following the instructions below:

Select Pay Bill option

Enter KCSE Examination year followed by 11 Digit INDEX NO e.g.201601234567891 as your account number
Enter the Amount

STEP 3: APPLICATION/REVISION OF COURSES/PROGRAMMES
Use the link titled Programme Application to complete your application/revision as follows:
Enter the Programme codes for the revised programme choices that you recorded and save
The choices you have made will be displayed if you have completed the form without errors. If you find errors indicated in red, correct and save again.
STEP 4: Last Procedure
You MUST Log out when you have finalized with application. This is necessary so as to keep your application information safe.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, KUCCPS, has now finalized the placement process for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exams candidates to universities of their choice. The reporting date for the first year students has been set for August/ September, 2025
The first year Students have been advised to visit the KUCCPS Student portal in order to know the university into which they have been placed. After knowing the university of placement, the Students should then proceed to download the admission letter. CONTENTS OF THE ADMISSION LETTER.
The first year admission letter contains vital information for prospective students.
Here is a list of crucial items that have been included on the admission letters for the 2025/2026 first years:
1. The School where the student has been placed i.e school of education, Medicine or School of Pure and Applied Sciences.
2. The Title of the degree program that the student will be awarded at the completion of the study period e.g Bachelor of Education (Science).
3. The reporting date.
4. The student’s registration number.
5. Documents that the student must present on the reporting date e.g Originals and copies of:
i). Admission Letter.
ii. KCSE Certificate and/or KCSE Result Slip on the day of registration for verification purposes.
iii. National Identification Card. If under 18 years of age, Birth Certificate will be required.
iv. National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Registration Card for self or for guardian.
v. Proof of payment of full fees as per the respective programme fee structure.
vi. Your agreement to adhere to the Rules and Regulations Governing the Conduct and Discipline of Students of the University.
6. Fees payment requirements and details; amounts and accounts into which the deposits are to be made.

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has released the payment rates for contracted professionals who will be in charge of the 2020 KCSE, KCPE examinations to be done in March/ April this year (2021).
The contracted professionals who include Centre Managers (Principals and Head Teachers), Supervisors, Invigilators and Security Personnel are expected to update their details online and download their invitation letters at http://cp2.knec.ac.ke/Professionals
According to Payment details released by the Council, Primary school head who will act as Centre Managers for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, exams will pocket a daily subsistence allowance of Sh500; for a total of 4 days (including rehearsal day). The exams will be done between Monday March 22, 2021 to Wednesday March 24, 2021.
On their part, Secondary schools Principals are expected to also earn a daily allowance of Sh500 for 18 days. The highest paid Supervisor will walk away with a sum total of Sh12,510 while the highest paid invigilator will pocket Sh9860. The KCSE exams will kick off on Friday March 26, 2021. The last examination day will be done on Wednesday April 21, 2021.
The Council has again failed to factor payment for Deputy Head Teachers and Principals despite the fact that they will be present during the examination period as assistant Centre Managers. Also walking home empty handed are teachers handling science subjects who will be required to prepare and administer practicals during the KCSE examinations.
This year’s KCPE exams will be done between October 29 and 31. Writing of theory and practical exams for KCSE exams is expected to be between Monday 4th November and Wednesday 27th November. The government has mobilised 180,000 teachers as well as police helicopters for this year’s national examinations.
A total of 286,000 professionals have been contracted by the Council to administer the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

Step-by-Step Guide to KUCCPS Application
Step 1: Accessing the KUCCPS Website
Visit the KUCCPS official website by typing www.kuccps.ac.ke into your browser.
Step 2: Accessing the Student’s Portal
Click on the “Student’s Portal” button on the homepage.

How to Check Kuccps Placement Results 2025/2026
Requirements for checking your KUCCPS placement results
You must have the following details and information to check your KUCCPS placement results for university and college.
Your KCSE index number
Your examination year
Your birth certificate number
The initial password on the KUCCPS portal is your birth certificate or KCPE Index Number (as used in KCSE exam registration).
To check placement results, university students should log into the students portal: students.kuccps.net.
Log-in requirements include the applicant’s KCSE Index Number, the applicant’s KCSE year and the password.
Once students log in to their accounts, they will be informed of the learning institutions where they have been placed and the courses they have been selected to undertake on the dashboard.
No charges are enforced in checking results on the portal. One only needs to have data bundles or be connected to the internet through a Wi-Fi connection.
“KUCCPS congratulates all the candidates whose placement report has been released today. Log in to students.kuccps.net to check the details of your university and college placement,” KUCCPS states.
How To Check KUCCPS Placement: Summary
Applicants can check their placement results through any of the following ways:
Student’s portal: Log in to the student’s portal and view your placement results on the dashboard.
SMS method: Send your KCSE Index number by SMS to 20842 starting with your KCSE year (Example: 202412345678912 to 20842). You will get a reply showing the program and institution you’ve been assigned to. (Cost: Ksh25 per SMS.)
KUCCPS contacts inquiries: Applicants may also send enquiries through the KUCCPS communication channels.
Huduma Centres: You can also visit any of the KUCCPS officers stationed at various Huduma Centres, including Nairobi (GPO), Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nyeri, Meru, Narok, Kakamega, Isiolo, Kitui, Thika, Kitale, Narok, Garissa, and Nakuru.
KUCCPS Procedures for Online Inter-University Transfer
You may may be unsatisfied with the placement results from Kuccps. Worry not. In case you want to change the placed university or college, you can do this easily and online. Once Kuccps opens the inter-institution transfer, you can proceed as follows:
Step 2: Click Transfers Tab on Top (Then follow the steps below after payment)
STEP 3: SELECT PROGRAMME
Select the programme you want to transfer to, put the PROGRAMME CODE in the inter-institution transfer field. You will only be allowed to proceed to the next step if you meet the cutoff and minimum requirements.
STEP 4: REASON FOR TRANSFER
Select the Reason for Transfer (Medical, Person With Disability, Financial Reasons, Not my preferred programme or other).
After selecting, attach a document that supports your reason for transfer. For continuing students who want to transfer. You must attach your transcripts.
Then fill in the reason for the Transfer Application in not less than 300 characters and note more than 300 characters.
The next step will load automatically if you have done everything right. Otherwise you will not be able to proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Transfer Payment
Follow the payment procedure that will appear after completing the reason for transfer. Pay via Lipa Na Mpesa Paybill and enter the Mpesa Confirmation Code.
The system will validate your payment and the next step will load automatically.
Then click submit. Enter your index number if asked to do so and click submit again.
STEP 6: ENDORSEMENT BY RECEIVING Institution
The institution which you applied to transfer to (receiving institution) will receive your transfer and endorse or reject it.
The major factor that will be considered by the receiving institution on whether to approve or reject your application is spaces available in the course you want to join.
Step 7: Endorsement By Releasing Institution
Once your transfer has been approved by the receiving institution, the releasing institution will then endorse your transfer.
Step 8: Review By KUCCPS
After being endorsed by both the receiving and the releasing institution, KUCCPS will be notified that the applicant has been accepted to join the institution that he applied to transfer to and he has been released from the institution that he was initially placed.
KUCCPS will then review your application for approval.
Step 9: Transfer Letter
Once your application has been reviewed by KUCCPS and approved then the next and last step is downloading the transfer letter and presenting it during admission or reporting.

Discover the streamlined process of KUCCPS online inter-institution transfer for a hassle-free transition. Ensure your academic journey is uninterrupted.
Kenya University and College Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will provide an opportunity to students who may wish to change their programmes and institutions through the online system. KUCCPS has officially opened the online system for inter-institution transfer for students placed during the current placement cycle.
KUCCPS procedures for online Inter-Institution transfer
The student (applicant) shall log in to their online portal and complete a transfer application
form.
Upon completion, the request shall be forwarded to the receiving institution for endorsement.
The receiving institution shall endorse the transfer applications received through their institution portal and submit. Endorsement shall be done by the Head of the institution or an officer delegated to endorse on behalf of the Head of the institution.
The receiving institution shall consider an application guided by the available capacity, minimum entry requirements and cut-off Points, and:
If accepted, the application will be forwarded to the releasing institution for consideration and endorsement.
If rejected, the rejected transfer request will revert to the applicant with comments from the receiving institution.
The institution will have seven (7) days to endorse the transfer application, failure to which the application will revert to the applicant.
The Head of the current institution shall either accept or reject the request to clear the applicant for transfer taking into account any obligations owed to the institution by the applicant, and:
If cleared, the request is forwarded to the Placement Service for review and final approval.
If not cleared, the application reverts to the student with the reason provided for follow-up or appeal to the Placement Service.
The current institution shall have seven (7) days to endorse the transfer application, failure to which the application shall revert back to KUCCPS for action.
Thereafter, the KUCCPS CEO shall review the application, and:
If the application is approved, the inter-institution transfer letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant and both the receiving and the releasing institutions through their respective portals.
If the application is not approved, the applicant will receive a notification with the reason for rejection.
Thereafter, the applicant shall download the approved transfer letter and present it the receiving institution for admission and joining instructions.
An inter-institution transfer shall only be valid after approval by KUCCPS.
Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to change programme or inter-institution transfer.

The SMS can be sent from any subscriber’s line (Safaricom, Airtel or any other) to 20076. For example, send the SMS in the format 23467847002KCSE to 20076. There should be no space left between the index number and the word KCSE.
One can also download the whole school’s KCSE results by Visiting the Official KNEC exams portal; https://www.knec-portal.ac.ke/. This one requires the school’s log in credentials.
Finally, candidates can visit the school for their results. This is usually a day after the results have been released. It is important that you check your result slip to ensure there are no errors on it. Be keen to see that details such as your name, index number and sex are accurate.
